The Wild, Wild West consignors would like to donate the proceeds from Lot 1 to the Colorado Simmental Association and the Colorado Junior Simmental Association. The donation will be used to offset both associations expenses and be utilized as both for Junior and Senior Board of Directors deem fit. The Wild, Wild West consignors would like to support that event with 60 straws of semen and 3 embryos.

Pick of the Herd - 2007 Heifer Calves
Altenburg Super Baldy Ranch is offering a unique opportunity to choose any Simmental or SimAngus heifer from the 2007 heifer calf crop. Never before has anyone been able to pick from the replacement heifers or entire calf crop. AI and herdsires used include H C Hummer, HTP SVF In Dew Time, ASR Little Bear, Remington Red Label, G W Trademark, Kappes Unique, and E S Dakota. Angus bulls used to make SimAngus were Future Direction, Traveler 004 and Baldridge Kaboom. Embryo calves will include our donors ASR Dream Catcher X On Target, WHF Larry 21F X Red Shocker & In Dew Time and MLC Dessi K53 X On Target. We have approximately 125 Simmental and SimAngus matings to be born in 2007. Our cows are summered in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains on the border of Colorado and Wyoming. We would invite the buyer to Colorado for a summer weekend with us and travel horseback to view the cattle in their native environment at the ranch. Stay with us as our Colorado guest. You can evaluate your heifer choices then, but not make your final pick until weaning in late September. A truly unique, and we hope and enjoyable, opportunity. One half payment is due at sale time and one half is due on October 1st , 2007.

Offering a “split” embryo flush. This is the 8th Wild Wild West sale and Dream Catcher has been represented at each and every one of them. She is not one of those donor cows with “an excuse” for not coming to town … we’re bringing her to show you how sound she is at 9 years of age. Dream Catcher is due early February to Remington Red Label, and we will flush her to a bull mutually chosen with the buyer, splitting flushing and freezing costs with the buyer. Buyer will receive one half of the embryos, with a guarantee of 5 freezeable and transferable eggs, with no maximum. Or the buyer can double the price and buy the entire flush. Dream Catcher has averaged 12.5 freezeable embryos per flush on 16 flushes. Dream Catcher is owned by Altenburg Simmental and Wayward Hills Farms, Kentucky.

Watt A Dream was ASR Dream Catcher’s natural calf. We thought combining the maternal strength of Kilowatt and Dream Catcher would be a “can’t miss” and “just prayed for a heifer”. We’ve not been disappointed. All the Dream Catcher daughters in production have worked well for us, with near perfect udders, bringing home some of the top calves. And we thought In Dew Time would be a “cutting edge” mating. We hope you do too!
