Private Treaty Bull Sale
This year we will hold our private treaty on
Saturday, January 27th at 11:00 am. The bulls are on
a growing ration and many will have 1200lb. yearling
weights. This year we will try to have preview
ultrasound data. The bulls can be viewed anytime before
the sale date and if you can call to make sure your
selections are taken care of.
This has been an exciting year with the continued record
setting cattle prices. I believe the genetic seed stock
purchases you make are more important than ever. You
need to position your cow herd for the future. Our
philosophy is to produce high quality, tender meat from
the most efficient cows we can make. Last year we sold a
heifer at the National Western Foundation Female Sale.
She combined EPDs 0.1 Bwt, 48 WW, 92 YW, 28 M, .64 UIMF,
and .46 UREA. The heifer’s sire, ISU Imaging Q9111, is
also a six star bull for tenderness. She measured a 6.2
frame score and we were rewarded.
The Angus bulls are the same type. Two thirds of the
bulls are above breed average for milk and yearling
weight while eighty percent will make their progeny
leaner according to their fat EPDs.
The Simmental bulls are low birth weight, moderate to
high milk, and high marbling. This year we have
introduced new genetics for your maternal needs through
the hottest Simmental bull on the market, Dream On. The
Progeny from these bulls need to be owned through
harvest to fully appreciate their value.

All bulls are pre-priced. If more than one buyer wants
the same bull, a private auction will be held between
those buyers at 11 am to determine the purchaser. A
volume discount is offered for 2 or more bulls at $100
per bull. Also if you pick up your bull here at ISU you
will be given another $100 credit per bull. If you want
us to deliver your bull, we will do so, free of charge
anywhere in Iowa. All bulls stay free of charge until
June 1, 2007
